Religious Education

Our RE Learning

“Only those who look with the eyes of children can lose
themselves in the object of their wonder.” – Eberhard Arnold
At
Lionwood we are ‘all different, all equal, all learning’ and this is reflected
in our religious education curriculum. Our curriculum is enquiry based,
providing children the opportunity to explore religious ideas while reflecting
on their own beliefs and identity. Children are encouraged to develop their own
self-worth, enabling them to reflect on their uniqueness as human beings, to
share feelings and emotions with others and to appreciate the importance of
forming and maintaining positive relationships.
We
want pupils to appreciate their own and others’ beliefs and cultures, helping
them to develop a clear understanding of the significance of religion in their
own area as well as in the world today.
